FAQ's Déployer les détails

  • Is this Bolivia tour private?
Yes. The programme operates on a private basis, including transfers, sightseeing and excursions with an English-speaking guide. In the Uyuni Salt Flats and Lípez region, travel is by 4x4 with a maximum of four passengers per vehicle.
  • What is the minimum number of travellers?
The programme can operate from 1 traveller, with single-traveller pricing. Rates become more attractive from 2 passengers, making it ideal for couples, friends and small private groups.
  • Are domestic flights included?
No. The three domestic flights — Santa Cruz–Sucre, Uyuni–La Paz and La Paz–Santa Cruz — are not included in the land price. Our team can arrange and confirm these flights as part of the booking.
  • Are meals included during the journey?
Yes. The programme is operated on a full-board basis, with 10 lunches and 10 dinners, in addition to daily breakfast. Drinks and any meals not specifically mentioned are not included.
  • Will I have time to acclimatise to the altitude?
The itinerary has been designed to introduce Bolivia progressively, beginning in Santa Cruz and Sucre before travelling towards Potosí, Uyuni and the higher Altiplano. Altitude affects everyone differently, however, so travellers should take it easy, stay well hydrated and consult their doctor before travelling if they have any relevant medical conditions.
  • When is the best time to visit the Uyuni Salt Flats?
The programme operates between March and November 2027. Conditions on the Salar vary considerably with the season. During the wetter months, water on the salt flat can create the famous mirror effect. However, flooding may restrict access to Incahuasi Island or require changes to some routes. During the drier months, the vast white salt surface and its geometric patterns become more visible.
  • Is Incahuasi Island always accessible?
No. Access to Incahuasi Island depends on water levels and conditions on the Salar. During periods of flooding, the island may be inaccessible and the route will be adapted accordingly.
  • What makes the Lípez section special?
The Lípez is one of the most remote and spectacular regions of the Bolivian Andes. Travelling by 4x4, you cross high-altitude deserts, volcanic landscapes and colourful lagoons before reaching the Uyuni Salt Flats. Accommodation and infrastructure are simpler here, but the extraordinary location is very much part of the experience.
  • What happens to my luggage on Sun Island?
For the overnight stay on Sun Island, we recommend taking a small overnight bag. Your main luggage can be stored in Copacabana while you explore Lake Titicaca and the isla
  • Can the itinerary be extended?
Yes. Additional nights can be arranged in Santa Cruz or La Paz, and the programme can also be incorporated into a longer tailor-made journey through Bolivia or combined with neighbouring destinations.
